“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
— John 14:27 (NIV)
DEVOTIONAL
From up here, everything feels quieter. The noise fades, the movement slows, and even the water below sits still—resting in the middle of everything around it.
Peace can feel hard to find in everyday life. There’s always something pulling for attention—responsibilities, worries, decisions, and things we can’t control. It’s easy to believe that peace only comes when everything finally settles.
But Jesus offers something different. His peace isn’t based on circumstances—it exists in the middle of them. It doesn’t wait for everything to be perfect. It meets you right where you are.
Just like that lake, surrounded by hills yet calm within them, your life can hold peace even when things around you feel uncertain. Not because everything is resolved, but because you are held.
Peace isn’t something you have to chase—it’s something you receive.
REFLECTION
What is currently stealing your sense of peace?
Are you waiting for your situation to change before allowing yourself to feel calm?
What would it look like to accept God’s peace right in the middle of your current season?
PRAYER
Lord, You know the things that weigh on my mind and heart. Help me receive the peace You offer—not based on my circumstances, but rooted in You. Calm what feels unsettled in me, and remind me that I am held, even now. Amen.
Peace doesn’t come when everything is still—it comes when you are anchored in the One who is.
