“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.”
— Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
DEVOTIONAL
The fire may be out, but the smoke remains.
It hangs in the air, thick and heavy, making it hard to see clearly. The landscape looks different now—changed, quieter, uncertain.
Life has seasons like this.
Not the chaos of the fire, but the aftermath. The part where things have settled, yet nothing feels fully clear. You’re left trying to make sense of what just happened and what comes next.
God meets you here, too.
Not just in the intensity of the fire, but in the stillness that follows it. In the confusion. In the moments when you can’t quite see the path ahead.
He doesn’t rush the process.
Healing, rebuilding, and clarity take time. Just like the smoke slowly lifts from the mountains, your perspective will come back—but not all at once.
For now, you don’t need full visibility.
You just need to trust the One who sees beyond the smoke.
REFLECTION
Are you in a season of “after”—where things have changed but clarity hasn’t fully returned?
What is God teaching you in the waiting, not just in the crisis?
Where do you need to trust Him, even when you can’t clearly see what’s ahead?
PRAYER
Lord, I don’t always understand what comes after the difficult seasons. When things feel unclear and unsettled, help me trust that You are still guiding me. Give me peace in the waiting and clarity in Your timing. Remind me that You are with me, even when I can’t see the full picture. Amen.
Clarity doesn’t come all at once—but God is present every step of the way.
