“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
DEVOTIONAL
There’s something about still water that slows everything down. No rushing. No noise. Just calm, steady, and quiet.
Moments like this are rare in life. Most of the time, things feel busy—our thoughts, our schedules, our responsibilities. Even when we stop physically, our minds keep moving.
But God calls us to something different.
“Be still” isn’t just about stopping movement—it’s about releasing control. Letting go of the need to figure everything out. Trusting that God is already at work, even when nothing seems to be happening.
Looking at this water, you don’t see chaos—you see peace. Not because nothing exists beneath the surface, but because it’s not being stirred up.
That’s what God offers your heart. Not a life without challenges, but a peace that isn’t shaken by them.
You don’t have to keep striving in this moment. You don’t have to have all the answers.
You can just be still.
REFLECTION
What in your life is creating noise or distraction right now?
When was the last time you truly slowed down and were still before God?
What would it look like to intentionally create space for stillness today?
PRAYER
Lord, I’ve been moving too fast and carrying too much. Help me slow down and be still before You. Quiet my thoughts, calm my heart, and remind me that You are in control. Teach me to rest in Your presence. Amen.
Peace isn’t found in doing more—it’s found in being still.
