“When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”
— Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
DEVOTIONAL
Fire changes everything it touches.
It clears, it consumes, and it leaves nothing untouched. Looking at the mountains in flames, it’s easy to see destruction—but fire also has a purpose beyond what we first understand.
It refines.
In life, there are seasons that feel just like this. Intense. Overwhelming. Out of control. Moments where everything familiar feels like it’s being stripped away.
But God never wastes the fire.
He doesn’t promise we won’t walk through it—but He does promise we won’t walk through it alone.
Even here, in the middle of the flames, there is still control. Still purpose. Still present.
What feels like destruction may actually be preparation.
What feels like loss may be clearing the way for something new.
The fire isn’t the end of your story.
It’s part of how God shapes it.
REFLECTION
What “fire” are you walking through right now?
Is there something God may be refining or strengthening in you through this season?
How can you trust Him more, even when the situation feels overwhelming?
PRAYER
Lord, the fire feels intense, and I don’t always understand it. But I know You are with me in it. Strengthen me, refine me, and help me trust Your purpose through every season. Remind me that I am never alone, even in the hardest moments. Amen.
God doesn’t remove every fire—but He walks with you through each one.
