“He restores my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.”
— Psalm 23:3 (NIV)
DEVOTIONAL
At first glance, this scene looks broken. Trees stripped bare, ground marked by fire, signs of what once was. It’s easy to focus on what’s been lost.
But look closer, and you start to see something else. New growth is pushing through. Life returning in places that seemed finished. The story isn’t over—it’s just in a different season.
Life can feel like this sometimes. Seasons where things didn’t go the way you hoped. Where something was lost, changed, or burned away. It can leave you wondering if things will ever feel whole again.
But God is in the business of restoration. He doesn’t just leave things as they are—He renews, rebuilds, and brings life back in ways we don’t always expect. What feels like an ending may actually be the beginning of something new.
The landscape may never look exactly the same—but that doesn’t mean it won’t be beautiful again.
REFLECTION
What in your life feels like it’s been “burned” or lost?
Are you focusing more on what’s gone—or what God might be growing now?
Where can you begin to trust God with restoration instead of holding onto what was?
PRAYER
Lord, You see the places in my life that feel broken or worn down. Help me trust that You are still working, even in those areas. Restore what needs healing, and give me hope for what You are growing next. Help me release the past and walk forward with You. Amen.
Even after the fire, life finds a way to grow again—and so does faith.
