Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
— Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

DEVOTIONAL

The path ahead is not fully visible. It curves, disappears, and leaves you wondering what is just around the bend. That is how life often feels. You want clarity, direction, and certainty, but instead, you are given just enough to take the next step.

God rarely reveals the entire path at once. Instead, He gives light for where your feet are right now. Not miles ahead. Not the full plan. Just the next step.

That can feel frustrating, especially when you want control or answers. But there is purpose in it. Walking step by step requires trust. It keeps you dependent, aware, and close to Him, rather than running ahead on your own.

Looking at a trail like this reminds you that you do not need to see the whole journey to keep moving forward. You only need enough light to take the next step.

And that is exactly what God promises to give.

REFLECTION

Where in your life are you wanting the full plan instead of just the next step?

What might God be asking you to trust Him with right now?

How can you focus on obedience in the present instead of worrying about the future?

What is one small step you can take today in faith?

PRAYER

Lord, help me to trust You even when I cannot see the full path ahead. When I feel uncertain or impatient, remind me that You are guiding each step. Give me the courage to move forward in faith, even when I only have a little light. Teach me to rely on You daily, not just when things are clear. Keep me steady, focused, and willing to follow wherever You lead. Amen

You don’t need the whole path—
just enough light for the next step.
